This is an ideal plant to attract pollinators with its unusual yellow bottlebrush flowers and highly aromatic, emitting a lemon scent when crushed. This is a compact variety making it perfect for smaller gardens and containers. It can also be trained up a trellis to create a gorgeous wall display. Plant Callistemon in a sheltered position in moist, well drained, non-alkaline soil in full sun. This callistemon is suitable for growing outdoors in mild areas and coastal gardens and is hardy down to 5°C (41°F). In colder gardens, it is best grown in a cool conservatory or planted in a patio container that can be moved to a warm position over winter. Lightly prune bottlebrush shrubs in autumn after flowering. Reduce the stems to fit the available space, and remove any damaged, crossing or wayward stems.
