This new variety is known for its well-branching and compact habit which provides more red-pink flowers. It is excellent in colder weathers that can reach down to -12C. This exotic looking shrub with its arching branches would look gorgeous as a bushy shrub or trained up a trellis. This evergreen foliage provides a highly aromatic emitting a lemon scent when crushed. Plant Callistemon in a sheltered position in moist, well drained, non-alkaline soil in full sun. This callistemon is suitable for growing outdoors in mild areas and coastal gardens and is hardy down to 5°C (41°F). In colder gardens, it is best grown in a cool conservatory or planted in a patio container that can be moved to a warm position over winter. Lightly prune bottlebrush shrubs in autumn after flowering. Reduce the stems to fit the available space, and remove any damaged, crossing or wayward stems.
