‘Profusion’ is a truly beautiful variety of callicarpa that not only has colour changing foliage, than transcends from forest green to burgundy red foliage in the autumnal months. You can expect lilac fairy blooms to pop up in the warm summer months that turn to clusters of bright pink berries in the autumn. These beautiful berries are well loved by birds, giving them a good source of food! Grow Callicarpa in any fertile, well drained garden soil in full sun or partial shade, although bear in mind that the autumn colour of the foliage will be most spectacular when grown in full sun. Callicarpa require minimal pruning, you should only trim plants to fit the available space, or to remove any dead or damaged growth. This should be done during the spring.
