One of the best known and most popular varieties, Beetroot 'Boltardy' produces good crops of deep red, globe-shaped roots with a sweet flavour and tender, ring free flesh. This variety is bolt-resistant and the sweet roots are perfect for roasting, pickling and slicing for salads, plus the baby leaves can be harvested through the season and used as salad leaves.Grow beetroots in light, rich fertile, well-drained soil in a sheltered position in full sun. Prepare the soil in early spring by adding plenty of well-rotted farmyard manure to the soil to improve its structure and fertility. Space beetroots at a distance of 10cm (4") apart, and water thoroughly after planting. Cover with a protective netting or fleece to prevent attack from birds and insects.Product Specifications:.
