Antirrhinum 'Purple Twist' is a classic white snapdragon flower with a difference - it boasts random stripes and flecks of vibrant purple, creating a fascinating 'paint splashed' effect. This unusually tall variety reaches 90cm, making it an exciting addition for the back of beds and borders, where its handsome spires will bloom from early summer through to September. The bold blooms of Antirrhinum 'Purple Twist' attract bees and other pollinating insects and also make striking cut flowers for a vase indoors. Culinary note: these pretty flowers can be used as garnishes or dressings but can have a bland or sometimes bitter taste. Sow Antirrhinum seeds indoors or under glass from January to March on the surface of a good quality seed compost and gently firm down.
