In 1900, Baum published his best known book - The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. He eventually wrote fifty-five novels, including thirteen Oz books, plus four 'lost' novels, eighty-three short stories, more than two hundred poems, an unknown number of scripts, and many miscellaneous writings. This book, made famous by the film of the same name, was written - as the author stated - to please the children of the day. A book that has been read but is in very good condition. Glaze pictorial cover. Some shelf-wear bumps and creases are evident e.g. scuff marks, but no holes or tears. Binding has minimal wear. The pages are undamaged but may have some slight creasing but this is minimal. It is clean and bright inside with a little wear to edges. It contains many black and white images. There is no owner inscription. A particularly well-preserved copy overall.
