'the most important examples of Furniture' and whilst it's not a complete catalogue, it focusses on the artistic pieces and although ..'much is passed over in the nature of costly modern furniture ... it can be mentioned that not one item is unrecorded that possesses either the smallest artistic or sentimental interest'. The tapestries of the castle are also recorded. Chapters begin with English and Continental Furniture (with the exception of French) from circa 1640-1700 and move up to French Furniture of the 19th Century.
