Rare 4 volume edition, quarter bound leather with marbled boards, of William Whiston's translation of the whole works of Flavius Josephus. See photo for full title-page. Free endpaper of each volume bears the inscription in ink "Presented February 8th 1890" plus stamps with the name John Wyvill and Leeds C. A. Church Property. There is no date of publication shown. Leather spines scuffed and faded but intact, corners bumped. Boards are discoloured particularly at the edges. There are marks left by old adhesive tape on the paste-down endpapers of volumes 2-4. Pages securely attached, none missing but there is some foxing and tanning, especially on and around the fold-out maps and illustrations.
