The Universal Dictionary of the English language (edited by Henry Cecil Wyld) defines itself as: "An original compilation giving all pronunciations in simplified and in more exact phonetic notations, extensive etymologies, definitions, the latest accepted words in scientific, technical, and general use, with copious illustrative phrases, and colloquialisms." The book is in good condition. The red card cover displays a little wear around the edges. The pages of the dictionary are in very good condition - securely bound and unmarked. However, there is a blank page missing ahead of the title page (please see photograph).
