The Thirteenth Pig - Clifford Webb. Published by Frederick Warne & Co., Ltd, Hardback (illustrated boards, no dust jacket) 1965. Illustrated. This is a lovely children's picture book about the adventures of a pig named Malt. Beautifully illustrated by Clifford Webb (1894 - 1972) a celebrated wood-engraver, illustrator and writer who specialised in animal drawings. A First World War veteran who also served in the Indian Army towards the end of the war and after, Webb trained as an illustrator then became a part-time art lecturer. Although much of his work was lost after Webb passed away, acclaimed author Simon Brett assembled the remaining work so that more people could discover, or rediscover, Webb's work. Stunning illustrations on the front and back covers, and inside. Condition: Good. Inside, although there is light foxing, there are no creases. Externally, there is foxing and tanning around the page edges. The covers bear some tanning, mainly along the fore-edge and spine, with
