Described on publication as "A major contribution to the advancement of cumulative knowledge in world philosophy and psychology...", this book was written by a trained medical doctor (neurosurgeon/psychologist) whose interest in yoga and Sanskrit philosophy led him to abandon his profession and set up the Ananda Ashram in Monroe, New York. Mishra, R. S. (1923-1993), teacher of raja yoga, was an Indian-born yogi who founded the Ananda Ashram in Monroe, New York, wrote many books on Yoga and Ayurveda and commented upon many Sanskrit texts. Our book is in good condition, having benefited from the protection of an unclipped dust jacket which has been reinforced with broad strips of brown paper glued to the pastedowns inside the covers. The jacket is rather discoloured and browned, with a mended tear at the bottom front R/H corner, and another, unmended, at the top L/H corner, but is otherwise in good condition.
