Fifth edition 1825. Volume II of the four volume set. Half bound with brown calf spine and corners, blue marbled paper covered boards. Gilt title on a black panel on the spine. The spine has surface rubbing with chipping at the top and base plus cracking along the front hinge line. The corners are rubbed exposing the underlying card at the tips. The boards have some surface rubbing to the marbled paper. The front hinge is cracked after the first free endpaper. The title page has three short tears running into the hinge near the lower edge. Light tanning to the endpapers and some foxing and light tanning through the text block. No inscriptions and tight binding to the text block. Volume II of this romantic, suspenseful novel of Scotland's 14th-century heroes, Sir William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. First published in 1809.
