One of the Apollo Poets series. As well as the poetry contains a biographical sketch of Longfellow. Bound in light brown cloth covered boards with bevelled edges and gilt and black illustration of dancers in Ancient Greece on the front cover and gilt illustration and lettering on the spine. Title page in Art Deco style. Black and white photo of Longfellow as frontispiece with tissue guard Gilt edges on textblock. Covers corner-bumped and faded round the edges as if smaller books have been leaning against them. Spine a little crushed top and bottom and a little frayed at the top. Back and front endpapers yellowed. Prize bookplate from 1899 on front free endpaper.. Some cracked hinges but book is firmly bound. Text clean and bright.
