A set of Tennyson's works in a set of 23 small books in a cloth-covered wooden presentation box. 'The People's Edition' published in the late 1890s, early 1900s. Each volume measures 10.9 x 14 cm. The basic structure of the box is sound. The cloth is worn and discoloured on the outside with rust marks at the pins holding it together. The lid is attached with a cloth hinge. This has split on the outside but is still attached inside. Inside the cloth is still the original bright colour which matches the books. The cloth-covered small hardback books are all in similar lovely condition for the age. They are lightly worn/bumped at the ends of the spine and corners but otherwise very good. The bindings are sound and the pages unmarked apart from very light tanning, mainly on the endpapers. There is small presentation card, presumably to the original recipient.
