New edition published 1821 by Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orme & Brown. Hardback. Embossed and gilt covers with banded spine and green title plate. Still bright with very minor shelf wear and rubbing to edges. Small tear to bottom of spine. Marbled end papers. Some yellowing of inside pages and foxing to pages that include engraved plates. Binding is secure. Overall condition is good. A previous owner has written her name in copperplate script on the first page, dated December 1822. Contains a long poem 'The Pleasures of Hope' and several shorter poems such as 'Love and Madness'. Also several pages of notes. Thomas Campbell (1777-1844) was a Scottish poet best known for the poem 'Ye Mariners of England'.
