This large book was first published in 1967, has 400 pages, 32 beautiful colour paintings by Joy Adamson, as well as numerous B/W paintings and photos and end paper maps of Kenya, Uganda and Northern Tanganyika (Tanzania). On arrival in Kenya, Joy started painting flowers and fish, then moved onto painting the Kenyan tribes. The Kenyan Government commissioned her to carry on doing this work for 6 years. Most of the paintings now hang in the National Museum, Nairobi and some are in the State House. This book contains some of her 700 paintings, some in colour and others in B/W. It also has some of the unique photos of the ceremonies of the tribes. The chiefs and models posed for Joy and her stories tell the love she had for Kenya and its people.
