Rare set of all 3 volumes from 1912-3; rebound in 1947. All 36 delightful tipped-in colour plates present. Taken from web .......... While the text and photos are meant to be educational, the colour paintings add a romantic touch, featuring the gardens of stately homes, labourers in the fields, beautiful coastal sunsets, etc". Green, plain cloth covers, with gilt titling to spines. Minor edgewear and scuffs to covers; minor bumping to top & tail of spines. All three volumes were rebound in 1947 (a pencilled comment of the endpapers refers to this). Foxing to endpapers, but not to the content pages themselves. Content pages are very clean, containing numerous b/w photos and illustrations; no tears, mark or annotations noted. Small smudges to blocks. Bindings remain good; there are degrees of cracking along the gutter at start and end of the volu
