The Lienzo of Tlapiltepec : University of Oklahoma Press : 9780806146300 : 0806146303 : 28 Feb 2015 : The Lienzo de Tlapiltepec is a pictographic document on cotton canvas that measures 156 by 66.5 inches and was created in the middle to late sixteenth century in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. The lienzo depicts historical events from about the eleventh tothe sixteenth century and was created by Mixtec Indians. Discovered in the town on Tlapiltepec, which is located in the valley of Coixtlahuaca, it is part of a group of documents called the Coixtlahuaca Group. Since 1919 the lienzo has been housed in theRoyal Ontario Museum in Canada.
