This 1950 book tells the true story of the Kon-Tiki expedition. The expedition was a 1947 journey by raft across the Pacific Ocean from South America to the Polynesian Islands. The book is authored by the expedition leader, Thor Heyerdahl. The book has no dustcover. The orange card cover, with gilt writing on the spine and an embossed symbol on the front, is in good condition. A small amount of wear is evident on the edges of the cover. The binding of the book is secure. There are no loose pages, and all the pages are unmarked. The text of the book is illustrated by a number of black and white photographs. There is an inscription on the first page: 'Wm. Staton, Xmas 1950'.
