The history of Hornby Dublo 1938-1964 forms Volume 3 of The Hornby Companion Series. In its time Hornby Dublo was undoubtedly one of the finest miniature railway systems to evolve in the United Kingdom. First introduced in 1938, the little diecast-bodied locomotives, in particular, set new standards in miniature railway modelling for the time. They became so successful that they eventually ousted the legendary Hornby gauge 0 system from the Hornby range. In this volume Michael Foster, a life-long devotee of the subject has, aided by a team of fellow enthusiasts, set out a complete history of the subject, including every known production item. He also touches upon those items which were planned, but never introduced and in this connection he has had unrivalled access to the original company's records at Binns Road. The book, which forms the first complete history of the subject, also includes a check list detailing every production item together with all known variations.
