This issue contains the hand-coloured plate of 'Cuculus: or Cuckow of Carolina' copied from Mark Catesby's 'Natural History of Carolina, Florida and the Bahama Islands' by J Cave. The plate is in excellent condition, with just the slightest browning and two spots to perimeters but with the illustration itself bright and fresh, with colours full. Among other inclusions two further plates: the first of 'the heads of six Incas of Peru', clean and bright; and the second of '20 Baronets Arms', the paper here moderately toned. Printed by Edward Cave, jun., complete in 48 pages and three plates with original blue printed wraps and what may be the original string binding. A few creases and some light foxing both to the wraps and the opening and closing pages, light rubbing plus a few marks to the wraps besides, and a small hole in the last page leaf with minor loss of text.
