He was a famed American travel writer and adventurer who enthralled America and, indeed the whole world with his exploits from the 1920s till 1939 when he disappeared sailing across the Pacific. This is an account of his most famous venture, flying around the world in an open cockpit biplane named The Magic Carpet. His pilot was Moye Stephens. There is a film version of the book which enhanced his celebrity. An entertaining read accompanied by many fine photos which add to the period atmosphere. This copy £ 24.9
