Edith Holden wrote and beautifully illustrated her Nature Notes in 1906, but only became posthumously famous in 1977 when they were published as The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady, a book which captured the imagination of the reading public the world over. In The Edwardian Lady, Ina Taylor has brought together a unique collection of photographs, paintings and mementoes of the Holden family which tell the story of Edith's life, from her upbringing in Birmingham to her studying art in Scotland and her tragic death by drowning. This is a 1990 updated version, including the publication in 1988 of The Nature Notes of an Edwardian Lady, from her 1905 illustrations discovered in a dining room cupboard. This copy is in Very Good condition, with clear bright pages. It is signed by author: "With best wishes, Ina Taylor".
