This first volume in the series of Catalogues of English Drawings in the Royal Library is devoted to the large collection , numbering about 450, of watercolours and studies by Paul and Thomas Sandby. The volume contains a detailed catalogue and introduction by A.P Oppe. This edition was published by Phaidon Press in 1947. The clipped dust jacket is intact but does show signs of shelf wear, particularly to the edges, corners and spine, and has some browning (see photographs). In addition, the removal of a price ticket has left a mark on the back of the cover. The hardback cover is in good condition with only slight bumping to the corners and spine, particularly the bottom. Internally, the book is in very good condition and has a varied collection of prints , illustrations and a section of plates. Measurements: 23cm x 30.5cm x 3cm
