The first section sets the tone: 'The Book of Snobs, by One of Themselves'. From 'Snobs and Marriage' to 'Snobbium Gatherum' this begins with a gallop through snobbery, and continues in a gossipy chatty style, often strongly opinionated and generally engaging. The conclusion, however, is more sombre, on the subject of murder. Dark green, soft leather covers with gilt lettering and decoration on the spine, with some mild wear; dark green endpapers; gilt top edges to the pages; a red ribbon page marker is still attached; binding seems good, though there is cracking e.g. pp 180-81. Red lettering on title page, with tissue separating it from a black and white illustration. Overall this is in very good condition for its age.
