A personal retrospective by the popular contemporary English watercolour artist Matt ('MJ') Forster. Matt describes how his practice has developed and includes the basic techniques that he uses, the importance of experimentation and the evolution of his unique Uberpainting process, in which he meticulously designs each painting before layering successive washes of his distinctive colour palette. The book features more than 70 paintings, ranging from Matt's early abstract works and experiments with geometric shapes, patterns and cut-outs through the years of Uberpainted landscapes, for which he is best known, to his recent 'Dos Pinturas' pictures of walls and doorways and more conventionally painted watercolours of mountains and coasts. Condition - Good with signs of use on hardcover.
