Subtitled 'The conversations of Confucius with his disciples and certain others', this volume is an ancient Chinese philosophical text composed of sayings and ideas attributed to Confucius. Translated into English by William Edward Soothill and edited by his daughter Lady Hosie, it was originally published in 1910, then published in the World's Classic series in 1937. It contains an introduction and chronology by the editor about his life and works, and descriptions of his 36 disciples and other relevant personnel. The blue cloth boards with gilt writing are in good condition, faded at the spine and a mark on the front. There is a name written on the front endpaper. It has a blue ribbon bookmark. The interior is bright and clear with no markings.
