Volume VII contains the Guterbock and Raby collections of Greek coins in the Manchester University Museum. The former coins, originally on loan, were given to the Museum in 1916 by Alfred Guterback about whose life and career there is, unfortunately, no detailed information. These form the nucleus of the collection and Harold Raby, who was for many years Honorary Curator, added more than 1000 fine coins which he had collected over half a century. Particularly well represented in this volume are the mints of Tarentum, Thurium, Syracuse, Alexander III, Corinth, Athens, the Achaean League, Syrian Kings, and Ptolemies. For a page example of the coin plates, see image 2. Very slight water stain on top right hand corner of the front cover.
