Spacebase Startopia is a simulation game, that combines elements of a classic economic strategy, and an RTS-like skirmish. The game is a sequel of wormly received economic strategy, Startopia, developed by Mucky Foot in 2001. The game features a decent dose of humor, and entertaining, a bit cartoonish, 3D graphics. Spacebase Startopia gives players a chance to step into the role of a commander, whose task is to build a prospering, full of all sorts of life forms, space empire. Story background The player gets in charge of a space station , that hasn't been used in the last seventeen years. The shipboard artificial intelligence known as VAL recognizes the player as the only intelligent life form nearby and hereby nominates us the new commander. She also mentions the fact, that the last commander 'disappeared' in mysterious circumstances, after a closer encounter with a worm-like alien life form.
