A collectable release from the redoubtable, EMI "His Master's Voice"-label, this is a particularly attractive item : It contains - within its Gatefold-Sleeve, shown in Photo Four -, three colourful pages of illustrated, biblical text, printed in the English language. (note : All of the narrated vinyl that I place online, has "spoken-word" in the title, so that the customer can easily find it!) Specifically, the item is Volume 5 of EMI's "The Living Bible" series, featuring the acting legend that was Sir Laurence Olivier (1907-89), reading from the Old Testament. On this volume, Olivier recites the stories of : Side One, Samson & Delilah ; and on Side Two, Ruth & Naomi. The volume is introduced by another Hollywood legend, namely Douglas Fairbanks Jnr. (1909-2000). Meanwhile, the version of the bible that is presented here, is the Authorised James I Version, adapted by Lord Aberdare in conjunction with Rev. E.C.D. Stanford.
