This limited edition timepiece was designed and created in honour of two key Seiko Watch Corporation anniversaries: 140 years since the beginning of Seiko and 60 years since the King Seiko was launched. ‘King Seiko’ originated when several of Seiko factories created different timepieces to encourage a healthy internal competition and drive innovation – one of the Japanese watch brand’s constant aims. In the 1950s and 60s, Daini-Seikosha and Suwa-Seikosha factories competed against one another; the Suwa team created Grand Seiko and the Daini experts invented King Seiko.
