This is a paperback guide published in 1904 for the Science and Art Museum in Dublin (now the National Museum of Ireland), and this particular chapter (Chapter 4 of 5) focuses on the Sheffield Plate and Pewter that made up the collection of metalwork that was displayed at the time. The guide begins with a preface that describes what each chapter covers of the metalworking segment along with an index to help readers find the information on a particular item. There is also a brief history of Sheffield Plate and then a list of the items displayed, along with a brief description and era of manufacture. This is then repeated for the Pewter items. There are no illustrations of the items on display. The guide is in surprisingly good condition; while there is wear and a notable tear where the paper cover folds at the spine there has been no repairs done with either stapler, glue or tape. Internally the pages are clean and the binding secure.
