Medieval objects recovered from the drainage canals of the city of Salisbury in the 1850s led to the foundation of Salisbury Museum in 1860. With the subsequent acquisition of many exceptional casual finds and the widest variety of artefacts excavated from nationally significant sites, including Clarendon Palace, Old Sarum, Gomeldon and Salisbury itself, its medieval collection is now one of the most outstanding in any provincial museum. This catalogue covers objects of bone, antler and ivory, enamels, glass vessels, cloth seals, papal bullae, lead/tin alloy metalwork, balances and weights, pottery, tile and brick and jettons, each section written by national specialists. The book is in good condition, see photos.
