Three black and white plates with guards. Ribbon marker still in place and in good condition. All text in French. Corners and edges rubbed, with some further light rubbing to the spine. The various gilt decorations are in very good, bright condition. There is some light foxing to textblock edges, visible when browsing the book. Internally, there are several inscriptions on the front endpaper, filling the space, but no more than scattered foxing through the book and no annotations to the text. The earliest dated inscription is 1869, but this does not seem to match the ink used.
