Kid leather pocket book with flap closure, pocket for papers and pencil slot inside front cover. Binding scuffed and worn at edges, 2mm split at base of spine. Block edges gilt. Binding cracked at front, one page loose but otherwise sound. PP133-141 missing (December section of Almanac), hence condition downgraded to Fair. Fold out Frontispiece, 'Mrs Professor Fogey's Reading Class' (seaside scene) hand coloured (probably by the owner) . Numerous full page illustrations, and vignettes at the head of each section by Tenniel, Keene and Bennett. Two parts: pp1-141 has information useful to middle-class readers including lists of M.P.s and peers and adresses of Government offices and London banks, followed by an Almanac and diary (blank). Pp 142-192 contain humorous short stories and poems which are anonymous but presumably by Punch writers.
