This 1937 autobiography by Noel Coward became an instant best-seller when it appeared, and as he was something of an 'A-list celebrity', was no doubt cherished by his many fans. One of these was the owner of this book - Molly Sutton, whose name appears on the front fep, dated March 4th, 1937. She evidently decided to use the book as a starting-point for a collection of reviews, reports, photographs... indeed, anything mentioning Noel Coward - and these were carefully pasted into the book without impinging on the text. The result is an extraordinary personal 'scrap book' devoted to the author, running through to the early 1960s, and is thus a unique item. Sir Noël Peirce Coward (18991973) was an English playwright, composer, director, actor, and singer, known for his wit, flamboyance, and what Time magazine called "a sense of personal style, a combination of cheek and chic, pose and poise".
