Anthony Phillips Pottery. Large blue dish with cover and handle decorat4ed in yellow, pale blue and black. Anthony Phillips trained at Harrow School of Art after having worked as a computer programmer, he now lives and works in Wapping, South London. Most of his work is thrown or press moulded. He makes a wide range of domestic pottery, including mugs, casseroles and cheese dishes in slip decorated red earthenware, but also uses brushwork and sponging. He wrote 'The Complete Potter: Slip and Slipware (1991) published by B T Batsford Ltd. He was featured in Ceramic Series in 1983 where Emmanuel Cooper wrote the accompanying catalogue: Ceramic Series: Anthony Phillips. see Aberyswyth University for examples of his work.
