The success story of the series E 44 began in 1930 with the series locomotive E 44 001 built by the Siemens Schuckerwerke. It was followed by the first series of run-free electric locomotives with single-axle drive in Germany in 1932.The PIKO E 44 is also a success story. The thumbnails of the pre- as well as of the series locomotives impress through their exact to-scale conversion. Equally sharp and precise engraving at the housing provides for enormous plastic depth and underline the excellent overall impression. This is also continued in the area of the chassis with numerous extra placed parts at the distinctive bogies. Identical in the model quality, but the differences between the prototype locomotives were implemented in the greatest possible detail in the model.
