Spanning a nearly thirty-year career in both the United States and in Korea, this publication traces Oh's early works as a university student in New York, through his discovery of the colors of the American Southwest in Santa Fe, New Mexico to the snow-covered towns in the Korean countryside outside of Seoul. With over eighty colour plates to show the diverse scenes that are his subjects, this monograph shows an Impressionist approach to modern landscapes. Also included are essays on Gyun's works by Richard Vine, an art historian, Phoebe Hoban, who has written about culture and the arts for Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and The New York Times, Raul Zamudio, an independent curator and art critic, and Kim Boggi, editor of Art in Culture magazine.
