Not Architecture But Evidence That It Exists is the first monograph devoted to the watercolours of artist and architect Lauretta Vinciarelli. Vinciarelli's remarkable artworks of imagined light, space, water, and landscape are clearly autobiographical in nature, reflecting her experience in and devotion to architecture in places like southwest Texas and Italy. Vinciarelli's visions are not meant to be built; as Vinciarelli herself has said, "The paintings are of spaces I know that look nothing like what I paint." Vinciarelli's watercolours are presented in a full-colour portfolio that is the centrepiece of the book. Also included are essays by Diana Agrest, K. Michael Hays, and Joan Ockman. The book includes 75 stunning full page colour plates. Corners are bumped; internally pages are clean and bright.
