The story of the Mets newest New Scotland Yard. How do you give a sense of transparency and openness in the headquarters of an institution for law enforcement? In 2017, the Metropolitan Police moved to a new home on Victoria Embankment in central London. The move signalled a significant change in their working culture, reinforcing the organisations desire for transparency and engagement with the people of London. The newest New Scotland Yard is a mid-century building by William Curtis Green, remodelled by architects AHMM as a twenty-first century headquarters, a contemporary workplace with many reminders of thes unique history and identity. This book, the first of a series of Minigraphs on AHMMs key buildings, describes the project in detail, explaining the design by setting it in its rich historic, urban and organisational context. Still wrapped in its original film cover, the book has not been opened.
