First published in 1910 this little book gives a very comprehensive look into the seasons and what to expect to find. Historically it is interesting as ploughing is done with horses and haymaking with a horse drawn mower. Each piece of information is numbered, some are written in the third person and some are as if spoken by various animals and birds. Illustrated with detailed line drawings and numerous coloured plates. The grey paper covered boards with a coloured picture pasted on the front are bumped with some loss at the corners and spine ends. There is a split 2cm in the gutter at the back. There is a book plate on the front end paper dated 1930. The pages with large print are a little thumbed in places.
