This New Edition hardback is quarter bound with red coloured waxed buckram, with gilt titles on the spine and blind stamped pattern in horizontal bands. The boards are a shade of green cloth. 8vo. While in good condition overall, this volume has been loved and there is handling wear to the boards, with bumping to the corners, and the top and lower edge of the spine. There is also a 1cm tear in the top centre of the spine. The binding is good but there is some foxing to the page edges. There are 32 colour plates and nearly 700 illustrations. It includes sections on household work, servants' duties, labour-saving, laundry work, etiquette, marketing, carving and trussing, the art of "using -up", table decoration, the home doctor, the nursery and the home lawyer.
