It is made from 95% cotton and 5% lycra which gives it a 30% stretch across the width (from selvedge to selvedge) and a 50% stretch down the length of the fabric. It is a soft and stable knit, making this fabric the perfect choice for sewing cosy tops, dresses, sweaters, cardigans, skirts and more. At 260 grams per square metre, this fabric is classed as a medium to heavy weight. It is thicker than a regular cotton jersey but thinner than a fleece back sweatshirt.
