A Minerva exclusive, this gorgeous Babelone Art design is printed onto the most wonderful quality cotton sateen base cloth. Cotton sateen is a luxurious woven cotton fabric. Not to be confused with satin, sateen has a lustrous finish but it is not shiny! Our cotton sateen is made form 100% cotton fibres and is similar to cotton lawn in that it has a beautiful silky feel but with a bit of structure. It is a non stretch fabric and is the perfect choice for sewing tops, shirts, blouses, skirts, dresses, jumpsuits, summer trousers, shorts and more. It is a really versatile fabric that is very easy to sew and press. At 115 grams per square metre, this fabric is classed as a light to medium weight. The fabric in most colourways is opaque and should not require lining, on lighter colour prints you may wish to line your garment or wear a slip for more fitted styles. We recommend sewing this fabric with a new fine universal needle for best results.
