Published circa 1910-13 by Blackie. Hardback. Red cloth boards with gilt lettering on the spine and black and orange illustration on the front cover. Spine is very faded and there is minor shelf wear to the covers. Inside pages are age-tanned and there is occasional foxing. All six colour plates are present but one has become loose. Also includes many black and white line drawings by H. R. Millar. The inside cover has a label for a prize awarded by the Regimental School of the 17thg Lancers, dated Dec 1913. This is a story for children of the old miller and a wise woman, told in 19 chapters.
