1952 first edition of the first book of Mary Poppins short stories, a selection of six tales from the second and third times she visited the Banks children, focusing on the park that runs alongside Cherry Tree Lane. The children experience a tea party with the people who live under the dandelions, a visit to cats on a different planet, and a Halloween dance party with their shadows. Illustrated, as the others, by Mary Shepard. Condition: No dustjacket. Boards shelfworn, corner bumped, rubbed, scratched. Foreedges foxed, name of previous owner on front pastedown. Some foxing and marks throughout, worst on early and late pages, but all pages remain readable. Some of Mary Shepard's black and white line drawings have been coloured in with coloured pencils. Internal hinges cracking, but binding holds.
