A charming and scarce signed print from Marius Girard. Ideal framing project. Good condition, with just a few very small foxing spots. Below is a potted biography of the artist, adapted from the Windmill Hill art website. "Marius Girard was born in Rheims, France, probably in 1927. He attended regular school and college until age 19, then studied at several art academies. His artistic studies were interrupted by national service where he spent time in Algeria. His only occupation had ever been as an artist. Back in mainland France, he worked at the Citroen factories but spent all his free time painting. He painted at the Place du Tertre, in Montmartre where he met many other well known artists who frequented this famous area of Paris. Soon he moved into a cellar in the square and made a living by selling his paintings. Later, when success came, he set up his studio at 18 Rue Saint Rustique, 75018 in Paris. Marius Girard paints the Butte, the Moulin Rouge and the Sacré Cur, but all of
