Hardback 1946 OUP. Orange boards with title on spine are in good condition with small corner bumps and rubbing in top and bottom edges. The dust wrapper is good but is browned and with rubbing on top and bottom edges. There has also been some small loss top and bottom around the spine area. The dust wrapper has now been protected by a Brodart film. The endpapers and binding are sound. There is a newspaper cutting about the book from August 1946 glued to the inside of the front endpaper. The page block is clean and bright. 212 pages. Few tigers are man-eaters, but when - from injury or famine - a tiger starts taking cattle, women, and men for regular food it becomes a scourge and terror to the surrounding villages. Such tigers are much hunted and very crafty, and when all else failed the villagers of Kumaon Hills often called upon Jim Corbett to deliver them. These tales of his hunting are true.
