At the beginning of the book there are photographic portraits of both George and Lewis Davenport; the book also contains numerous black & white illustrations, some full page. The book has some very slight rubbing at extremities, and there is some spotting on the top and right edges of the page block. There is some mild toning to endpapers, but the pages themselves remain bright, and there are no annotations or inscriptions. The jacket is edgeworn and there are some chips from edges, the largest of which is at head of spine approx. 12 mm at its deepest point. There are also some light marks on the rear panel, as well as a worn patch at the top where perhaps a label has been removed, and the spine has faded slightly.
